The Warning

Mixing two subjects with this blog. Is Frankenstein possibly Mary Shelly's subliminal warning about the Industrial Revolution. If I am thinking correctly wasn't Frankenstein published around the time of the Industrial Revolution. As I see it, Mary Shelly was warning people that too much technology and knowledge isn't necessarily a good thing. Is Mary Shelly warning us of an Industrial monster?

  3. Wow Mitchell that is an awesome thought!!! I couldn't agree more. I do believe that it is a message to people to be careful as to what they dream and what they create! Like Austin, I had never thought of the book like that.Great thinking!

  4. Oh my gosh!!! This is great!! Because it is late right now (10pm is late for me...), I wasnt planning on commenting on anyone's blog, however, this post was so amazing that I couldn't wait another second to comment. :) This is such a profound thought and I never would have thought that Shelley was warning us. Nevertheless, I beleive that you are right. She might have been warning us that knowledge is great in moderation, but too much can be destructive. My life "philosophy" is to use and do things in moderation. Nothing done in excess can be good for you. This philosophy can be applied to everyday life (ie: exercise, school work, dieting, computer and cell phone usage, etc.)

    I love your blog!

  5. Deep mitchell. I really like this blog. Now that I think about it, Shelley could definitely be using her writing to warn us. Good one!

  6. Wow mitchell I never thought of it like that. Way to think outside the box. I think that Mary probably tried to convay a lot of messages in writting her novel and that was probably a major point she tried to get across. Awsome blog! I love the colors.
