Franken-genius?

After finishing up for my reading today I was think is the monster extremely intelligent also? In chapter 14 he explains how he learned how to speak by listening to the "cottagers". Aside from being physically superior, the monster quickly learned how to speak and has an extremely expansive vocabulary.Kind of a dull topic, but I was thinking about it. Is the monster capable of learning quicker than the average human?

    I believe the monster is a genius when it comes to learning. I think he definitely learns faster than humans because Safie wasn't even learning as fast as he was. He could speak better english than she could... Learning words unbelievably quickly.

    Perhaps since he was proportionally larger than a normal human, his learning capacity is greater.
